In chapter 14-16 it made me feel really bad. I cant believe that Ann found people in the basement. When I heard about Nancy and how she lost her family like Ann did. I could feel Ann's feelings in those chapters. After that chapter the author pulled me in to the boo even more. I have one question for the author tho why did Master Charles let her go see her family? Why were Master Charles and Mr. Bigelow talking about?

I think I know why Mr. Bigelow wanted to try to buy Ann and Master Charles will not let her be bought because Master Charles wife Mistress Carol needs the help around the house and to walk Sarah to school.

Mr.Bigilow was there and he was trying to tell Ann were her mom lived. He said they live on 422 New Jersey Avenue. He said she has a brother a sister who goes to school. Then master Charles covers Mr.Bigilows mouth and said stop talking to her. When Mr.Bigilow tipped his hat Ann waved and then Mr.Bigilow drove off. That is how it was in Master Charles house.

The thing that is happening in Master Charles house is that Mr. Bigelow is trying to by Ann. Next Master Charles and Mistress Carol are talking about business in the kitchen while they were eating. Then Master Charles does NOT want Ann to leave. Then Master Charles won't let Ann have a pass to go see her family on Christmas. Finally Mistress Carol's niece Sarah moved in with them and she likes to wake up early in the morning and hit Ann with her foot to wake her up but on morning An was already awake and when Sarah was going to hit her Ann grabbed her foot and pulled it and Sarah fell. Sarah was going to kick Ann again but Ann grabbed her foot again and pulled it and Sarah fell even harder on the floor.

I feel bad for Ann because Master Charles would let Mr. Bigelow talk to Ann so she could see how her family is doing. Master Charles wouldn't let Ann go see her family because he dosen't trust Mr.Bigelow. If I was Ann I would want to beat up Master Charles because he trades slaves. Ann has to go down to the cellar to give the slaves bread and water they tell Ann their names their names are Richmond, Nancy, and Theophilus. They tell Ann about their masters and how they got treated. This chapter was a good chapter because now Ann knows how her family is doing and that their ok. At the end of chapter 16 Ann left a candle down the cellar so they could have some light this chapter was a really good chapter. I like the part when Richmond was talking about how he ran away onece. I like this chapter this was a really good chapter!!

Mr. Bigelow came down and tried to buy Ann's freedom but master Charles raised the price to 1600 dollars because they need help around the house. Ann was eavesdropping on them and heard them naming prices and then they got to 1600 dollar and then the door opened up and Ann was standing in the doorway. Then Mr. Bigelow told Ann about her new baby brother and how her mom was in this sewing company and her sister went to school. He also said that they were still raising money for her freedom. I felt bad about this chapter because Ann doesn't get to see her family because Master Charles keeps raising the price for her freedom.

I think he did a good job at explaining everything that went down in the chapter. Also i didn't think that master charles would raise the price that much. And that mr. bigelow came and told ann where her family was located.

Ann and sarah got in a fight. Also Mr.Bigelow came and told ann that david wanted her at christmas time, and that they are living at, 422 jersey avenue. And then mistress carol and master charles got in a arguement, about master charles selling slaves. Also slaves keep getting caught trying to escape. Master charles is giving people slaves and mistress carol is threating master charles.

I did not expect Ann to find slaves in the cellar when she took the piece of bread and bucket of. Water I was surprised of how Nancy got there I don't think any of them should be there. I think they should be with there old owners and not with Master Charles. In that cellar and I think that Nancy should be with her family. Like Ann should be with her family and be free with them.

I think that it was sad when Master Charles refused to sell Ann, and the other thing that is sad is that Richmond got whipped a hundred times.

What is going on in Master Charles's house he is a slave trader. They are down in that stinky old cellar they have know blankets and they are chained up. One of the person was almost beat to death by his master and one didn't want to be sold and one was free slave they kidnapped her. I could not take being a slave. This is sad and wrong to do to them. I think that it is sad how they just walked in to her house and just kidnap her and plus they take her to Master Charles cellar that stinks like rotten potato. This is a sad chapter I could cry. I don't like Master Charles he is just a creep he likes to see people in pain or see them suffer and who does something like that.

How would you get the chained up slaves and runaway if you don't have the key to get them unchained? Were would you run to if you were Ann, North or South?

I would use the candle and look a round for the keys then at christmas break use the keys to break them out to get a way and go to my famly.

When Mr.Bigelow came to Charles home in Rockville and told Ann that her Dad was working at the docks and her mom was sewing on New Jersey Avenue probibly make her feel a little better it would make me feel better. I didnt like the way when Miss Sarah kicked Ann for breakfast I would get really mad! When Ann found the slaves in the basement chained up I would get them out and run!The stories that the slaves chained up were sad. It was funny when that little girl. thought Ann was a ghost. They were really good chapters.

Ann pulled Sarah's leg 2 times and Sarah fell flat on her butt. Next is that Mr. Bigelow was trying to buy Ann's freedom. Then Mr. Bigelow was talking to Ann about her family and how that they were free and how her mom had a new baby ,and how they moved to 422 New Jersey Avenue while Master Charles tried to block his voice from reaching Ann. Master Charles refused to give Ann a written pass so that she could see her family over the holidays. Then they ate dinner and put Sarah to bed. I feel that Master Charles is the biggest creep in the world.

In chapters 14-16 I felt really bad because all the people in the sceller were taken from home or sold. The thing that was happening in master charles home was he was trading slaves. They all were poot in a cold an rotten seller while chand to the wall. I feel sad because this girl was taken from her family while she was asleep and she was a free person. But i liked when mistris carol said she didnt like what charles was doing.
